На самсунговских SDD, говорят есть проблемы со скоростью загрузки в BigSur и выше. По крайней мере я столкнулся с таким на внешнем SDD. Пришлось заменить его на WD. Как у вас при этом есть проблемы?
Есть такое, загрузка ОС происходит довольно долго, но после этого SSD работает на нормальной скорости. Не связывал это конкретно с Samsung. Меня сильно не напрягает, так как выключаю или перезагружаю iMac крайне редко, режим сна прекрасно работает.
@@arogov Да, это следствие какой-то несовместимости самсунковского контроллера и его тримовской функцией. И чем сильнее забит SSD, тем дольше время загрузки. Началась эта бяка с бигсура. На WD-ых или Intel-их SSD такого нет. Спасибо, что подтвердили, что и на внутренних тоже есть такая проблема.

Кстати, с SATA SSD Samsung грузится очень шустро, у меня на нём винда стоит.
@@arogov подозреваю, что и на внутреннем она тоже будет быстро грузиться. Тут именно что-то в самой макоси они накрутили. Потому что еще с каталиной не было таких проблем.
Шикарная работа! А Вы тестили конфиг? Я сделал почти то же самое, теперь кусаю локти...)) У меня i9 работает как i3 2007го года)) И выяснилось это только в тестах в винде, посредством BOOTCAMP.
Да, тестировал, всё работает как и должно и в синтетических тестах и в реальном рендеринге видео

NVMe works perfect as at the first day it was installed. Regarding screen adhesive I’ve got one issue on the right screen side. Due to high temperature this summer adhesive on the right side unglue a bit. Not critical, but needs to be fixed anyway.
One more hint for NVMe: now I would prefer to install WD SN750 instead of Samsung due to less heating, it’s not a huge advantage but anyway more reliable choice I believe.
@@arogov thanks for the info! did you use Apple Adhesive or owc,ifoxit adhesive? What temperature do you get from evo plus? Im gonna use sintech st-ngff2013c adaptor! Do you think there is enough space for heatsink?
@@arash7even I used adhesive for iMac 27" 2015/2018 from Aliexpress. EVO 970+ regular temperature is 50-65C. Regarding heatsink - I beleive there is a bit space for it, but to be honest - I’m not mesured it.

Depends on environment temperature. In a normal usage it's about 40-50C CPU, 22-23C environment.

@@arogov Where did you buy the count-up timer and how did you get it to work. Did you use an arduino, or just a timer relay?
@@ctek4life it’s not a timer relay. I’ve bought an AC voltmeter on Aliexpress, desolder LED-indicator and soldered it to Arduino mini board. Timer activation made by Hall-sensor.
@@arogov this is awesome! If you have any of those aliexpress items handy, I'd welcome them. Otherwise I will start my own independent search. Great job on the mod. Its a little silly, but probably worth it not to hit a timer button every single time you make a shot.

На переходник NVMe рекомендуют клеить желтый термоскотч, чтобы избежать перегрева и выхода из строя твердотельного диска. Смотрю вы ничего не клеили, хотелось бы узнать ваше мнение?
Я использую Samsung 970 EVO Plus, эти SSD не выделяют так много тепла, как например, WD Black SN850, поэтому проблем с перегревом нет.

iMac 27" 2019 supports only CPUs Apple used in this series, so no, 10 gen not supported.

If this video was supposed how to do this, I would say that you failed horribly since I could not even follow you, then listening to that annoying music, especially the first piece that you chose, is so distracting. I was able to upgrade my Mac to 2TB SATA SSD, 2TB NVMe SSD and 40 GB of RAM, but the Core i9-9900K upgrade didn’t work (black screen). Tried 4 times. I have a Core i5-9600K that I was able to put back in and it works. Do you know why the i9 won’t work? Is there something I have to do to the BIOS or anything in preparation?
Excellent effort, did a very similar thing with my late 2015 and have a 2019 waiting for this treatment!

You should be able to upgrade to 128GB. I upgraded mine with 2x32GB DDR4 sticks and brought mine up to 72GB RAM.

are you sure its imac 2019 base model? in other forum said in iMac base model i5 8500 not able to upgrade i9 9900K. what new update your iMac, any problem?
Akmaludin Dwijaya yes, I’m sure. This is iMac 2019 model MRQY2RU/A. Still no issues, work perfect and as expected.

I don't think so. Apple has no one iMac with these CPUs, so it's on your own risk to put them in.

Boot drive is NVMe of course :D I've installed SSD only for reducing noise from HDD during periodical Power Nap waking up.

This iMac can be configured only with 32Gb of RAM by Apple version, but chipset and CPU actually supports up to 128Gb. I've bought this RAM: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07N124XDS/

Yes, you need adapter to install NVMe card. I've used adapter like this: aliexpress.ru/item/33030399165.html Works perfect for me. Leisurely it took for me a few hours i guess.

In a regular computer store :) It's a Samsung 970 EVO Plus SSD 2TB www.amazon.com/Samsung-970-EVO-Plus-MZ-V7S2T0B/dp/B07MFZXR1B But you need to use adapter m2->Apple NVMe to use this SSD in iMac.

@@arogov so you've not had any issues? I've heard that there might be some thermal issues going to 9900k vs 9900kf. Great video btw!
@@vmha8311 Both processors (9900k and 9900kf) have the same TDP: 95W. As I'm already answered the previous comment, I have no problems with overheating when using Arctic MX-4 thermal compound.
Only vid I could find with a 2019 imac 5k cpu upgrade, thanks for making it!! How’s it running so far?
I loaded the CPU with various heavy operations, including a few hour test in Intel Power Gadget. CPU temperature wasn't raised above 90C. Arctic MX-4 thermal compound do it's job very good! Video 4k processing consume 100% Radeon Pro 570X GPU so i think about buying eGPU for this kind of work. Final configuration: CPU i9-9900k, RAM 128Gb, SSD 2Tb, HDD 1Tb.
